In this episode, I talk to Helen Maliburn, a Hashimoto’s and thyroid specialist and a nutritional therapist, about how she recovered her health and how she helps other women do the same.

If you have Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, or any other autoimmune condition, you know how frustrating it can be to find the right help and support. You may have been to multiple doctors, tried different medications, and followed various diets, but still feel tired, bloated, brain foggy, and depressed.

That’s why I was so excited to interview Helen Maliburn, a Hashimoto’s and thyroid specialist and a nutritional therapist, who has been through the same journey and has managed to turn her health around. Helen is passionate about helping other women with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism to heal their gut, balance their immune system, and reclaim their quality of life.

Helen’s Story of Hashimoto’s and Hypothyroidism

In this episode, Helen shares her personal story of how she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, celiac disease, and several other autoimmune conditions, and how she struggled to function on a daily basis. She explains how working with a nutritional therapist and changing her diet and lifestyle made a huge difference in her symptoms and energy levels. She also reveals how she decided to study nutrition and become a nutritional therapist herself, so she could help other women with similar issues.

Common Gut Symptoms Associated with Hypothyroidism

Helen and I also discuss some of the common gut symptoms associated with hypothyroidism, such as bloating, cramping, gas, heartburn, reflux, constipation, and diarrhea. Helen explains how low stomach acid, h. Pylori, SIBO, and parasites can affect your gut health and thyroid function, and what tests you can do to find out what’s going on. She also shares some of the dietary and lifestyle changes you can make to heal your gut lining, reduce inflammation, and support your immune system.
